Do you ever wonder why some stay at home parents get frustrated the longer school is out?
Here’s the secret. Parents are tired of
Let me explain. Kids love Pink Unicorns! Parents tell me that all the time. Kids want to play and as they do they discover some math secrets and reading sequences and gain great experience in left-right, what belongs, what doesn’t belong, what’s different, what’s the same, and memory training of where something is or is not.
As a former first grade teacher, I can tell you fo sure that the kids that don’t discover these things before school are so far behind the eight ball that they get discouraged and give up when they should just realize how much fun learning new things really is.
We won’t mention the inevitable discipline problems that crop up as a result of frustration, either!
The big question on parents’ minds is “how can I overcome this boredom, lack of reading and math preparation, entertain these busy little people, turn off the electronic devices and enjoy this season of time?”
Many parents come to me, as a former teacher, frustrated and weary and nit knowing hiw to change the situation. At the end of December, one parent of a kindergartner told me her youngest daughter did not know her teen numbers and wasn hating going to school. She was falling further behind everyday. My heart broke!
I gave this mom a deck of Pink Unicorns. They played them and the little bit older daughter also joined. I got the report that the girls loved them and the youngest had learned all the numbers because she understood the concept. She also had moved ahead on her reading readiness skills.
This little girl was now eager to go to school - her tummy aches and “I don’t feel good” days had totally disappeared.
Now, your child can flop from dreading school to eagerly going because they are ready to do so and nit lagging behind their peers.
Inside Pink Unicorns, you will find adorable unicorns, eighteen different ones, some happy, some sad; some dressed for winter, others dressed with spring, summer, and fall. Some facing left, some facing right. You will also have directions and more directions you can download with activity ideas.
