Sudanese Christian Woman, Meriam Jbrahim
Today in the New York Daily News, a Sudanese woman, Meriam Ibrahim, was leaving everything she knew, except her husband and her two children, to come to live in the United States. Actually, she had given birth to the baby while incarcerated. Meriam was not in a women's prison for murder. She was not in prison for stealing. She was not in prison for doing anything most people would even consider a crime, especially one that would be punishable by death. Her horrible crime: marrying a Christian and then not refusing to deny her own Christian faith. Her story causes me to stop and consider: Am I that strong? Am I that unwavering in my Christian Faith? I have never been incarcerated for my faith. I have been persecuted, but not like that. Have you? My babies were born in a United States hospital. Did you give birth in prison because of your faith? Meriam, I am praying for you and your family and for those your testimony influences. We'll come back to The Throne Room in the next post. Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am!
