Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am Christmas Emotive, Part 412/26/2014 Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am Christmas Emotive, Part 4
Psalms 71:1 "In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion." The Christmas emotive that often sprouts the day after Christmas is being "drained". Any "amens" or "oh, me's" out there? The opposite of drained is actually complete. The title of my last book is The Truth is My Only Recourse...is God. The only way to completeness is being open to The Source of completeness. I came to the conclusion that, indeed, my only source was God. Family was great; but was not my source of completeness. Friends were awesome; but were not my source of completeness. A job may pay the bills while you have it and you may even enjoy it (or not) and like your co-workers (or not); but none were my source of completeness. A new outfit or hairdo may temporarily make you or me feel good and being the recipient of compliments; but they were not my source of completeness. You see, all of those are only for a small season. Any or all could be there this morning and disappear before sunset. With friends, family, co-workers, and other people come a very clear warning: James 3:16 "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work." The job may be phased out, the company sold or under new management, you may find yourself without a job for a number of reasons. Rule number one: never eat chili, chocolate, nor other foods driving the car with your new outfit on. Rule number two: never walk in the rain without an umbrella just after you walk out of the beauty shop. If you are drained, even a little bit, maybe you need to forget about what caused it (that's pretty much a big lesson in futility!), and immediately run to The Source! 1 Corinthians 14:33 "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am! Linda L Culbreth Oh, if you want a free pdf file of the book I mentioned, you can find the tab on this web page up at the top.
