Spa Day For Christian Women and Pastors Wives
Here's a fun event to bless your ladies. At least it did me! A spa day was scheduled for the ladies. It could have been held at the church or at someone's home. But it wasn't. There's a private retreat center in the area and that was secured from 9-noon on a Saturday. The program and the directions came from one of the ladies, Holly Killian. Thank you, Holly, for permission to share! The how-to: 1. Greet, meet, name tags. 2. Open with prayer. 3. Light refreshments consisting of infused fruit water (one container had a sliced orange and blueberries in water, the other had sliced strawberries and sliced cucumbers - my pastor's wife mixed them together in her glass, as well as others, including me. It was delicious!) and fruit. 4. Have each make their DIY spa items to take home. The table had bowls of the ingredients and plastic spoons. It was decorated with smooth black stones. We were provided oral and written directions, little plastic bags, little plastic cups with lids (like a carry out for sauce), wooden stirrers, and even a coffee filter (with a stapler to seal it), and labels to put on each bag. A. Sugar Hand Scrub: Add enough white sugar to fill the container 2/3 full. Fill the remaining 1/3 of the cup with Dawn Renewal Dishwashing Soap. Stir. Use a little to rub into your wet hands. Rinse off. Makes your hands fill like satin. B. Lime & Mint Foot Scrub to counteract the stress of tired, swollen, achy feet: Fill the bag half full with Epsom salt. Add a spoonful of baking soda, a pinch of lime zest, and 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and lime oil. Add to pan of warm water and soak feet. C. Rose & Chamomile Bath Tea - helps to relax and bring a peaceful sleep: Fill bag 1/2 with rose petals and 1/2 with chamomile. Add contents of bag to bath tub and relax. D. Peppermint Bath Salt - "If you're feeling down and out this bath soak is just the ticket": Fill bag half full with Epsom salt, add a spoonful of sea salt, dried peppermint plant, the contents of one green tea bag, 2 drops of peppermint essential oil and almond oil. Add contents to bath tub and enjoy a nice, warm bath. 5. Devotional. (Would be a good time to "My Lady, Queen Esther" do a presentation, see the home page at www.lindalculbreth.com for the details.) 6. Singing. 7. Time to spend alone with The Lord. 8. Clean-up and leave. Could be done in an evening. Some of the girls thought it would be fun to go in together and buy the ingredients and make small, spa gift baskets to give as Christmas gifts. Holly bought the items from the local health food store. Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am! Help Needed: I have a couple of openings for the presentation, My Lady, Queen Esther," on my upcoming trip to Houston - Galveston - Humble area. Does anyone know someone who could help schedule me? I appreciate this helping hand from God.
