Bible Study: Christian Women & Pastors Wives, I am His Sheep, Part 5
Have you ever had a nickname? Who gave it to you? I had two as a child: "Charlie Lou" and "Sister." My brother, five years older than I am, gave me "Charlie Lou." Lou is my middle name, but I have no idea about where the "Charlie" came from. Maybe I will ask him at the family reunion. Then, there was "Sister." Daddy gave me that one. He also called my big sister (two and a half years older than me), "Sister." I know he knew us apart, we are nothing alike in looks or personalities. But, when he needed us to appear, all he had to do was call out "Sister." Whoever heard it came; usually that meant both of us. God has a nickname for me, too. He calls me His sheep. We have already mentioned that sheep hear their earthly master's call and follow him. How much more so should I hear His Voice and follow Him? What woes would pondering on this short chapter today solve? Psalms Chapter 100: 1 (A Psalm of praise.) Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am! Linda L Culbreth
