Bible Study for Christian Men and Christian Women ~ I Am Still, Part 1 Psalms 46:10-11 " Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah." These two verses remind me of a sandwich. You have "Be still" on one side and "Selah" on the other side. And, there is a lot of good things in the middle. If you are still, then you are not running around, bouncing from one thing to another, multitasking. Basically, you are forsaking everything else in order to seemingly, do nothing. Ever seen someone who bounces their knee when they are supposedly "still"? I have. Actually, I have had the misfortune of sitting either next to or close to someone who from all appearances - except for their knee - were still. But their movements kept my mind from being still. And their movements caused me to feel like I was sitting on a trampoline while somebody else was jumping. I've noticed that these bouncy knee folks tend to do everything in a whirlwind state. They race from one place to another in their cars. Everything has to be done "yesterday." When asked, they will tell you "That's just the way I am." I don't believe that is what God has in mind in these verses. On the other extreme (not the other side of the sandwich) there are folks to literally fall asleep when they sit down and are still. That can be from medications, sleep deprivation, tiredness, illness, or no doubt a multitude of other things. I don't believe being "comatose" is what God has in mind, either, do you? Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am! Linda L Culbreth P.S. - My gift to you is a pdf file of the book, The Truth is My Only Recourse...is God, is waiting for you to claim.
