Bible Study for Christian Women and Pastors Wives ~ I Am Certain God Hears Me, Part 3
In today's Bible Study, I Am Certain God Hears Me, Part 3, I want to mention sunrises and sunsets. There is not a single minute of the day or night that a slice of earth is not treated to a sunrise, and at the same time, a sunset. The clouds and terrain do make the sunrise look different in different places, but it is the same. Sunrises and sunsets are God's way of showing us that there is another day. You and I have no control over the sunrise nor the sunset. We cannot change it. We cannot stop it. It may be hidden behind buildings, foliage, mountains, and clouds, but it is still there. We may not comprehend the actual miles it encompasses. We can take pictures of it. We can paint it. And if we really hurry, we can invite someone to share the fleeing moment of either the sunrise or the sunset with us. It is truly a "great and mighty thing." I have seen mountains, the painted desert, oceans, miles and miles of plains (with sunshine and also with billowing, giant thunderstorms rolling through), been caught in blizzards, in hurricanes, in tornadoes, floods, an earthquake, experience the blinding of lightning that blinded my eyes for several minutes, held newborn babies, watched plants come alive in the spring and change colors in the autumn breeze, and seen God's miraculous handiwork as He worked in my life and that of others. They were all "great and mighty things." In Jeremiah 33:3, God offers this proposition: "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." He promises in this verse to show us great and mighty things that we don't know, if we but call on Him. He wants us to call on Him! I am certain God hears me and I am excited and anxious to see the "great and mighty things”He promises me! Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am! Linda L. Culbreth
