Bible Study for Christian Women and Pastors Wives - I Am His Branch, Part 1
John 15: 1- 6 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me. 5 I am the Vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." Sometime back, I did the research and wrote a short book, How To Prune Like an Expert. I learned there are many ways to prune trees, but, for each type of tree there really is a correct way and an incorrect way. Some people who know the tree must be pruned just hack it any ol' which way, which does a considerable amount of damage that the tree may never recover from. But same tree in the hand of a true expert and master, becomes healthy, more beautiful, and bares abundant fruit. The enemy wants to hack us to pieces, causing extensive damage. Our Loving, Heavenly Father is an expert at pruning off what needs to be pruned in my life. I may not (and probably don't) understand it and the gaps and holes I feel in my life. He looks beyond to the fruit we will bear later on! Be blessed in The Name Above Every Name, Jesus! I know I am! Linda L Culbreth
