Bible Study for Christian Women and Pastors Wives - I Am His Righteousness, Part 3 We have all seen it. We have all seen someone participate in a competition, win, and then the win be recanted because of not following the rules. Maybe it was a sports game or business deal or even a program. Ever read the story of ZZZZ Best? I did just recently. The founder was 16-year old Barry Minkow. By his own words, when he was 21, the company was worth 280 million dollars. From the world's point of view, Barry had it all! "Worse of all, I was a fraud - a fact I kept well hidden from my friends. They didn't know my company was built on lies and deception." Barry continues in his story describing the lies, the deception, and the fact that all was discovered. "In late 1988 I was found guilty on all counts of fraud. The sentence: 26 years and $26 million. Everybody was there watching Barry get what he deserved. It was probably the most embarrassing moment of my life. The room was full of media and even the victims of the crime." There are many, many folks who believe they are "good enough" to make it to Heaven and not "bad enough" to go to hell. The Apostle Paul warns us in 2 Timothy 2:5 "And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully." It looked like Barry's rules were working! But, he didn't play lawfully and he lost it all. Thankfully, he came to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. That's what Abraham did and God counted it as His righteousness. God was and is the "horse trader." He swapped our sins, our unrighteousness, for His own righteousness. The moment we believe, God covers us with His righteousness. If you haven't asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior because you've played life by rules other than God's rules, how awful will hell be? "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6 Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am! Linda L Culbreth
