Bible Study for Christian Women and Pastors Wives - I am Looking to God, Part 5
"Looking unto Jesus The Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" Hebrews 12:2
When you finish your work, you sit down. As long as you are not finished, you need to keep working.
That tells me I am looking to Someone Who "is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
1. Why can Jesus sit down?
2. And why "at the right hand of the throne of God?
Jesus answered that first question while He was still on the cross. John 19:30 "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and he bowed His head, and gave up the ghost."
Regarding the second question: the right hand indicates strength and power. The throne of God indicates authority. Jesus is seated at the highest place of strength, power, and authority because He was finished with the assignment His Father gave Him..
I am looking to One Who sits at the highest place of strength and authority.
Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am!
