Bible Study for Christian Women and Pastors Wives - I Am The Salt – 4
Salt is good. Both Mark 9:50 and Luke 14:34 says so. The medical profession tells us we must have salt to live. It's a necessary nutrient thatt our bodies cannot manufacture. It is found in every cell of our bodies. Without it, we will physically die. Historians tell us that battles were fought over it and taxes were levied against it. I was amazed to find that it was traded for equal weights of gold. Pricey, huh? Many manufacturers tell us salt is absolutely necessary for their processes. God made salt and He calls it good (Go back to Genesis for that.) However, I believe the salt God is talking about is not the physical salt, but the purifying and preserving effects of His Word and The Holy Spirit in our lives. Just like the Epson salt water had to be next to my freshly operated-on toes to have the effect the doctor wanted, we have to meditate on The Word of God for the purifying work of The Holy Spirit to work in our lives. Actually, there are 15 instances of the word "mediate" in the KJV. Tomorrow, we will look at some of these. Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am. You can do it by simply writing a forward to a book and then inviting others to purchase the paperback version.
