Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife - I am Afraid, 5
One Sunday morning, a little girl attended the Sunday School class for her age group while her parents attended the adult class. On the way home from church, the dad asked what she had learned in Sunday School.
Her answer had them very puzzled: "Don't be scared, you'll get your quilt." They looked at each other with "the look" reserved for parents between each other.
When the mom had an opportunity, she asked the child's Sunday School teacher what had been taught the previous Sunday.
"It was really some great verses," she replied."We were over in the book of John, chapter 14."
The mom had a very curious look on her face and nodded her head and said, "please continue."
"Jesus was telling His disciples that He was going to leave them; that He was going to die. They were all afraid. Then Jesus told them that He was going to send a Comforter to them and that the Comforter would live inside them and never leave them nor forsake them."
The mom burst out laughing. Now it was the Sunday School teacher's turn to be puzzled.
"Well, that's a little different the version than Amy Jo taught us on the way home from church, Sunday. Her version: 'Don't be scared, you'll get your quilt.'"
The verses that were taught are believe. Before I share them, know that when you ask Jesus to come into your heart, God The Holy Spirit moves inside of you. You become His Temple. He is there to comfort, to guide, to lead, and to love you. Basically, you could say you are all wrapped up in His love for you and there's no reason to be afraid regardless of the circumstances.
John 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever."
John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."
John 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.red,
Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am!
