Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am Am Praying to Change the Course, Part 1

     As I was praying about this series and asking God exactly what He wanted me to write about, I remembered some notes written in my Bible several years back. I believe God caused me to remember them; I do not know the reason why - could be just for me and it could be just for you or maybe for both of us.
     The foundation can be found in Proverbs 1:5. This time, I am using The Amplified version of The Bible. "The wise also will hear and increase in learning, and the person of understanding will acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so that he may be able to steer his course rightly]."
In the KJV, we have the following: "5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels."
     I am a "why" person. If I understand the why, I am way more likely to do whatever is required. For example, if I understand that I am having a medical test (that is very expensive, by the way) that requires swabbing my mouth but it must be at least thirty minutes after I have had anything to eat or drink, then I will neither eat nor drink, regardless of how hungry or thirsty I may be. 
     Without "the why" then if I am thirsty or hungry I will eat or drink. "The why" makes all the difference. "The why" is found inside the brackets [ ] in this verse. "So that he may be able to steer his course rightly."
We want to change the course, the direction, so that we are going in the right direction - and the only RIGHT direction is God's direction. Not our own direction and desires, not someone else's direction; but, squarely on course in God's direction.
