Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am Fighting to Renew My Mind, Part 4 What things are part of your unwritten "TO DO" list everyday? Do you get out of bed? Do you bathe? Do you eat? Do you breathe? Do you get dressed in a certain order? Do you always put the same shoe on first? Do you have daily routines that you do automatically? A little side step here. Years again when my sister was dating her husband of now many years, I did something I still laugh about and have asked for forgiveness for from both of them. He was over for Sunday dinner that day, which had gotten to be a real regular event. Always, always, always, he salted his meal without even tasting it. With extra folks around a small table in a not too large of a kitchen, we served the plates from the stove. I, being the wonderful server and naughty little sister, served his plate. His green beans had already received an extra heavy dose of salt. As usual, he salted everything heavily. I watched as he took his first bite of green beans. More than likely, they tasted like they had been cooked in water straight from The Salt Sea. He was reaching for his tea when my sister caught me holding back a snicker. I confessed rather quickly, removed the green beans from his plate, and replaced them. After that, he always tasted everything before he salted anything when I was anywhere around. All of that to ask a very important question. When was the last time that you made renewing your mind part of your everyday, unwritten "To Do" list? Sometimes, it needs to be done even more often than daily. Has renewing your mind became a top of the list item? Is it a priority or is it sometime that you will do "when you get a round to it"or when you really think you need it? Here's God's "round-to-it" for you and for me: "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind." Ephesians 4:23. Just like my brother-in-law had a routine of salting then tasting, we need to constantly be fighting to renew our minds and spirits, even if we are not sure we need to do so. Because, we probably do need to! Be blessed in The Name above every name. Jesus! I know I am! Linda L Culbreth Click here for your free copy of "The Truth is My Only Recourse...is God."
