Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am in His Presence, Part 111/10/2014 Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am in His Presence, Part 1
Psalms 16: 11 "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." Do you really believe that verse? It's in The Bible. So, in theory, as Christians, we should. After meeting with countless numbers of Christians, I am amazed at some of the core beliefs held by most of the them. It's evident by the words that come out of their mouths and no doubt in what they say to themselves in self-talk. Many are faithful to church, hold leadership positions, and are considered the "creme of the crop" in their churches and circles. Again, I ask you the question, do you really believe that verse? If I were to quiz you, could you tell me the last time you knew God was showing you the path you need to take? How did you know that? How would you tell me the steps so I could see God's leading for myself in my life? Could you tell me about the joy of just being in His Presence? What if my circumstances are really horrible? What is the fullness of joy promised? Is that promise only for a few, certain ones, or is it for all who believe? How do I find it? And how can I be at His right hand? Are those pleasures real, or fleeing, or are they really "for evermore"? When does "evermore" start? Are they for me? Do you really, really believe that verse? Is it part of every moment of your life - in the good times and in the trying times and in the horrible times? Do you practice it? Do others see it as a defining factor in your life? Thank you for that post. It is true that many allow Satan and self- talk to lead them away from God's joy. If you are not careful your faith walk can become a duty only exercise and not a love affair. I have gone through this myself. Be blessed
