Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am in His Presence, Part 511/17/2014 Bible Study for Ministry, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife ~ I Am in His Presence, Part 5 Recently, I have been privileged to help a client in western Missouri in my role as a book coach. Because of the distance, I stayed with her on her beautiful ranch. My bedroom and our working area were downstairs. The kitchen and her bedroom were upstairs. I came bouncing up the stairs and charged into the kitchen. She had just picked up a hardback, personal journal and said: "I can't believe that I wrote what's in here." (No, I never did read any of it - doesn't mean I didn't want to do so!) She continued with "I need to get ready for the Bible study I'm giving in a little while at the Senior Center." (I also knew about that and the circumstances why she had been forced to wait until the "morning of" to get ready.) I asked her if I needed to grab my breakfast and go back downstairs. "No, you won't bother me at all." I sat down across the table from her while eating my breakfast and watched. Her method was this: She prayed a short prayer out loud, waited a few seconds, and begin to write quickly as the words and pictures came to her. After maybe five or ten minutes of this, she had several pages written and her joy was evident. I knew this was not her first rodeo in hearing The Voice of God and enjoying every second of it. I laughed out loud and asked her if she knew what verses in The Bible she was practicing. She looked at me a little startled and answered "no." "Girl, you are practicing Habukkah 2: 1-2." "I am?" "You am! (I know, wrong grammar, but so appropriate.) That's why you can't believe what you wrote in your journal.” I picked up one of her Bibles - not sure exactly how it was going to read because it was not KJV or Amplified, mine was downstairs and my bouncing was all bounced out, and turned to it and read it out loud: Habakuk 2:1-2. "I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." "Girl, let's look at it for a minute. You were still and then you looked to see what God said to you through His Holy Spirit living inside you, and then you wrote down what you saw and heard. Am I correct?" She thought about it for just a second, wrote down at the top of the page she was writing on the reference, Habakkuk 2:1-2, nodded her head, and then continued praying out loud things like "Lord, what do You think about____," being still, then writing what she saw and heard. Maybe you are not on a beautiful ranch, you may not even have a place to call home, perhaps you are even reading this on a borrowed computer. But, the ground is level at the foot of the cross. Remember, this was not her first time to do this. At one time, it was her first time. Maybe it even felt awkward for the first few times. But she kept on, seeking His Face - and finding His Presence and His joy. And you can, too. Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am!
