     Psalms 16: 11 "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
God promises us a couple of things in the last phrase of this verse: "at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
     What is the carrot? And are we serving and loving a cruel God (probably should be lower case, because our God is not a cruel god) who knows we will never get the carrot? Who is going to keep moving it? Who's going to make us slam our faces into a wall in our quest for the carrot? Who's going to force us to jump off cliffs to reach it?
     God is not cruel! He does not have a sadistic sense of humor! (He does have laughter and humor, but never in a cruel, hateful, hurtful sort of way.) No, forever no. John 3:16 is written in the non-erasable, non-fade-able, all-powerful Blood of The Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, Who takes away our sin. John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
     The carrot? What is the carrot, you may be thinking? It not a single carrot. It is not even a bunch of carrots - but a whole heaven full! 
Think about just this one: being in a place where sin is not (yours, mine, and anybody else's). Where there are no murders, no drug deals, no abuse, no fighting, no lies, no betrayals, no rejection, no drunkenness, no disappointment, no sorrow, no lack, no needs, no sickness, no - you fill in the blanks.
     That's a pretty good carrot patch! And that's just for starters.
