Bible Study for Ministry Women, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife - I Am The Salt - 99/25/2014 Bible Study for Ministry Women, Christian Women, and The Pastor's Wife - I Am The Salt - 9
For ministry women, including the pastor's wife, the danger is extreme as we are so busy in the ministry to stop and be where Jesus is. In essence, it is a real danger to lose saltness. Mark 9:50 "But if the salt have lost his saltnes." Two verses in Psalms that we simply cannot ignore and hope to contain our "saltness" and have peace with ourselves and others: 1. Psalms 4:4 "Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah." (Every time I see the word "selah," I wonder just how long we really should stop and think about the words just before the "selah.") 2. Psalms 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." We are so often like Martha who was too busy in the ministry to sit at Jesus' feet. And, we are quick to criticize those who are still at The Savior's feet. Have you ever really slowed down enough to ponder that story? One very interesting verse in Luke's account is this: Verse 40 of chapter ten: "But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, and said, Lord, dost Thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me." Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am. Linda L Culbreth
