Christian Writing Tips - What Do You Have to Say?
Matthew 10:27 "What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops." I came upon this verse this morning while meditating on the section in My Only Recourse is God regarding "I Am Able to Hear." I cannot picture me, personally, climbing on top of a house. I don't like ladders and at my age, I really do not care to hear the name of an orthopedic surgeon and my name used in the same sentence or even paragraph. However, writing what The Lord has given me and spoken to my heart is very much the same thing! Let me use a quick illustration. A dry sponge cannot wipe up anything. Get it wet, and it can be used. Add more water to it and set it aside in a warm place, without wringing out any water, and it grows mold and mildew. But, when it is wet, really wet, it can be squeezed out over a lot of area. Some one who has not spent time with The Lord is like the dry sponge. They cannot be used for their intended purpose. The person who spends a lot of time with The Lord but never shares with others is like the soggy sponge that molds and mildews. And, the person who spends time with The Lord and then wrings it out over others refreshes them and is, indeed obedient to Matthew 10:27. As a Christian writer, I must spend time with The Lord. AND, yes ~ all capitals ~ I must speak what I have heard from The Lord to be obedient. In the process of writing that which God has given me, then I multiply my ministry to others ~ even around the world in places I will never go. What have you heard from The Lord that someone, somewhere, desperately needs today? Be blessed in The Name above every name, Jesus! I know I am! Linda Culbreth
